The Best Love Movies
The American Film Institute chose Casablanca as its top U.S. screen romance movie in a list of romantic films recently. The film institute began issuing annual lists on different movie themes in 1998. The love story list was chosen by about 1,800 directors, actors, studio executives, critics and others in Hollywood, who voted from a field of 400 nominated romantic films. We used this list as well as IMDB, Rotten Tomatoes and our own research to compile this list of the best love movies . |

What are the best romance movies ?
Romantic Films can be hard to rate. The problem is that people have different tastes and so inevitably don't like the same ones. This is especially true for love movies. Many lists of the top twenty romantic films or top 10 love films we have read, we didn't agree with.
100 of the best love movies
So, using various resources and our own research we have compiled our own list of the 100 best romantic movies. The principle factor we used in scoring this list was the overall emotional impact the movie has on people as an average. For example, "On Golden Pond" may not be seen as a romantic film, but it is a highly charged, emotional movie that does cause people to feel closer to the ones they love. So, for this factor we have included it as a love film and it makes it onto our list.
As you sit down by a warm fire and snuggle into your favourite blanket with a fresh cup of hot chocolate by your side, you slowly become part of the love story unfolding on the screen in front of you. You feel their love, their joy but also their pain. But, no matter what the outcome, the emotional ride is always worth it.
